It has been WAYYY TOO LONG!!!

Hellooooo lovelies!!!!!!! Oh my gosh, I am soooo sorry that I have been gone for what feels like forever!!!!!!! Let me tell you, it has been one heck of a time since we last "talked".

Main reason for my absence - 2 1/2 months or so ago I tore my ACL in my knee playing basketball in a rec league. That was in August.... thennnnnnn September 20th I had ACL Reconstruction surgery on my knee! So, after that I had this GINORMOUS black brace going from the crotchal region to basically my ankle. Because of this huge monstrosity, I haven't really been able to dress to my full potential. Soooo... as of this past Wednesday (October 20th), I got my brace off! And lucky for me, it was my 24th bday so it was even cooler! But, anywhoooo... this was my outfit that I wore to class (yes, I had class all day and night on my bday).

Soooooo.... another update! These boots in this picture........ are like the most rockin' boots ever! And, they came courtesy of Lucky Mag and Timberland!!! Timberland came out with this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Earthkeepers Collection! The boots are eco-friendly!! Can you believe it??? You should definitely get over to Timberland's site and check out this collection! I can't find this exact boot anymore, but there are seriously soooo many booths that I am craving right now!! These ones are a mix between leather and suede... and they're absolutely amazing!!!

A HUGEEEE THANK YOU TO LUCKY AND TIMBERLAND FOR THE CHANCE TO TOTALLY ROCK THESE BOOTS! This outfit is just the casual beginning to what I'm going to do with them.... the possibilities are endless, and I can't wait!!

Welp There's Changes A-Comin'!!

Sooooooooooooooo I have decided to open up my own online BLOG SHOP!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! I have A LOT of stuff to post in the next few weeks! I have shirts, dresses, skirts, pants, shoes... just a ridiculous amount of stuff that either doesn't fit me or I just don't get a chance to wear! Everything will be priced within $5-$25. Most things being pretty low on the price scale!

Here's what's gonna happen........... I'm gonna post all these items and give you all the details of sizes, where it came from, etc. And all the payments will be through paypal because that's easiest. I have an email address specifically for "the shop" and the first person to email me about that item will get first dibs on it.

Hello lovelies!!!!!! It has been WAYYYYYY too long since I posted!! My deepest apologies for neglecting said blog and being a horrible blog friend!!! :P Here are some of the many reasons/excuses for why I have been so neglectful.......

1. I have a new boyfriend.. and he's amazing.. and I loveeee everything about him! :)
2. I have officially quit my full-time marketing job to go back to school full-time.
3. I start school next Monday!
4. I have been working at my "part-time" job pretty much full-time.... non-stop... and I dress in a tuxedo to do it.... therefore, not many sweet outfit posts to report.
5. I am busy..... all the time.... at least that's how it feels. And I miss you all... :(
6. I need money to pay the bills so I have to work as much as possible.
7. I'm in the process of looking for a new 1 bedroom apt because my roomie moves out soon.

Ohhhhh heyyyyy lovelies! :) Soooo... it's another Mailbox Mavens post for you! The Mavens have been doing such a fabulous job styling up all of the awesome pieces that are making their way around the country! Soooo excited to see more!! :) Sooooo.... here's how I restyled a piece from Tabitha of the Fashion Therapist! Amy from the Bargain Hunter Extraordinaire got it first, and then she passed it along to me! Here are the ways those 2 lovely ladies styled this super cool tunic! It's got such awesome rosette-like detailing around the neck!!

Tabitha's challenge to Amy was to style it as an actual tunic.... I think she did a great job! Super cute on both looks!!

Amy's challenge to me was to try and style it as something completely different then what it's meant for.... i.e. a scarf, etc. Soooooooo here's my take on it! It was pretty tough to do, but I think overall it worked out! In the pics, I don't have it kinda clipped up behind me yet so it's a little gappy.... But what do you think? Does it work as a scarf/neck embellishment lol?

Soooooooo.... I got into the Certification program at Millersville! :) I start in the summer! I'm currently in the process of applying for the student loans that I need and also applying for the actual summer courses. I can't wait to get this started and start teaching! I'm officially done my current job next Thursday. I'm actually excited about that because I feel like I've lost the passion for it. I then start subbing the next day! I'm super nervous! So if any of you lovelies are teachers, please give me some key pointers to remember when I sub! Anywhoozle... God is good! :) He works everything out always... and sometimes I just need a swift kick in the you know what to get me back on track....... Thank you lovelies for being so awesome and for continually brightening up my day! You all rock!!

Oh hey........ April Fool's.......... today I don't quite feel in the mood to pull some awesome/extreme prank...... but I do feel like a fool. Does that count??

Sooooooo...... I feel very discombobulated currently....... I feel like my life is going in many different directions and I need to figure out what in the world to do with it. As some of you may know *or not know*, in 2 weeks I'm officially done at my 9-5 sports marketing job. I've decided that I want to be an Elementary school teacher! Awesome right? Well yeah, kinda..... So I picked up a substitute temp position while I attempt to work on getting my certification. Soooo... I'll be working the subbing temp and working at Mac Grill still. So, I can probably pay all the bills yada yada yada...... However, last night.... my roommate told me that she's moving out on June 1st when the lease is up. Awesome......... or not. Sooooo... I either need to find a frickin' ridic cheap apartment for myself, or a roommate, or move... home... cough cough... but that's my ultimate last option and only if I just have zero dollars in my bank account. Don't get me wrong, I LOVEEEE my parents... but I can't go from living on my own for 5 years, to moving back in with them. Total change. Something I doubt I'm prepared for. I'm also waiting to hear if I even got accepted to go back to school for the teaching cert. I may not know for another 2 weeks........ So now, I have to trust that He knows everything... and has some sort of plan for my crazy life. OK... I'm done. Thanks for "listening"......

I'm sorry for the rant.... sometimes you just need to vent it all out..... whether people read it or not......

That would just be creepy to them. I leave them to think that I'm taking a few extra minutes in the bathroom for "personal reasons"....... :) So, there you have it!

If you look really closely at my legs... you can see some sweet sweet bruises from various sporting events I have been participating in. Haha... I'm so versatile! :) Last night, the team that I play on won the dodgeball tournament! Hollaaaaaaaa... and tonight? I have an indoor soccer championship! Crazinesssssssssss......

Here's my take on it... It has a bit of a menswear vibe which I dig... And I figured, how does one compare to gold sequins!?!?! They just can't.... :)

2. Alsoooo... if any of you beautiful PA/East Coast bloggers have any single brothers, cousins, friends, acquaintances that are handsome, intelligent, hilarious, have good morals, love to eat, love to play sports, can hold a conversation, etc... you should probably send them my way! :) I'm mildly cool.. and I love to eat... and I love sports... and I love fashion... and I'm a catch... or at least that's what my Dad tells me! hahaha... But seriously, I'm sick of meeting people that are not worth the time of day for one reason or another. Any of you other single girls out there finding the same problem? I'm 23, but I feel like I'm ages older than the typical single guy that I meet.... It's sad really. Anywho, I'm done with my rant.... but really.... My turn to remix this amazing dress from her. Her challenge.... To wear this amazing convertible dress as a skirt! So here it is.... I was in love with this outfit! I got a lot of compliments on it! Thanksss Tabitha for letting me style this up!

Here are the awesome new shoes that I got from Shoe Dazzle. Check out that site! It's $39/pair of shoes/per month. Then you can decide to skip months if you want. So, it's officially my first Mailbox Mavens post!!! I'm soooo excited for this whole thing to get underway! :) My first piece that I received was from Meg at The Discerning Fashionista! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, be sure to do it! Pronto! She's fabulous! Anywho, she sent me this awesome multi-blue cardi to style up!! Below is her interpretation....

Her challenge was to style it with another bold color... it was tough to find a bold color that would work well for me. So I paired it with this awesome romper that I bought yesterday from none other than Forever 21!

I love a great "Sale"... I love going into any store *even expensive ones* and walking out with something AWESOME for really cheap!!! I may even consider myself a "Sales Whore". Is that appropriate to say on the blog?? Not sure... but it may be true. :)

So, I'm pretty excited about these shorts. I see them as winter/spring/summer/fall shorts. I can picture what I'll wear them like in the spring/summer. I wish it would get here sooner.......... Anywho, these tights, I love! I just bought them last night at Forever21. Personally, I think these tights specifically (more than any other pair I have) shows off my legs. I'm pretty pleased! So glad I purchased them! I actually originally went to F21 to get some pieces for a date that I have on Friday night...... ummm yessssssss... I ended up with something that I think will be fabulous and perfect for what we're doing, and I clearly spent way more than expected! Such is the life when I visit F21... I could have purchased more... I wanted to.... That store tempts me.... all.the.time!! I'll keep you posted with pictures... and possibly a bit more info on the date itself. 2. Here are my first outdoor pics... Unfortunately, unlike most of you, I'm not currently dating/married to a man yet that I can have take my pictures every day. :( Sad face. Also, I don't have a tripod... I'm gonna throw myself a mini pity party for a sec............ Ok, I'm over it. I apologize for the weirdness that is me that you are about to be subjected to in the following pictures. The Roomie and I went to a matinee showing of Dear John (it was beautiful, but I'm sure the book was better) on Saturday. So, here we go..... When I do most things pertaining to my blog, I do it through my "Dashboard". The dashboard tells me about myself (awesome....) and how many "followers" that I have... and then I can also see the most recent posts from all of the lovely blogs that I subscribe to. Now, is there a difference between "Following" a blog via Google or whatever and adding someone to your "blog roll"? Again, I'm sorry if this shows that I'm really not one big ball of awesomeness... I'll try to make it up in the future, I promise. For now though, humor me.... Tell me how you follow me (if at all), and possibly a slight explanation of what that means...... I was walking around picking up some necessities, when a woman gave me (what I thought) was the stink eye. You all know what I'm talking about. Someone doesn't like what you're wearing, so they give you the once over and look at it with disgust. Mehhh.... doesn't really bother me, but I'm like whatever. So I walk past her, and then she pretty much yells out, "UMMM IS THAT LEATHER?!?!!?" I turn around and realize she's talking to me! hahaha... And, of course, I take this opportunity to say "Yes, it's from the 80's!" She then proceeded to say, "Ohhhhh myyyy Gahhhh.... that's hott! I was wondering, cause I haven't seen anything like that for a long time!" hahahaha... Welp, thanks lady for validating my green leather skirt purchase!! Yesterday, I was reading a hilarious post on Boo Mama. It's about Cereal. Check it out!! Anywho, I was reading this, and I just felt compelled to write something about....... you guessed it, CEREAL! I kind of loveeee cereal! When I was little, I hated most things dessert. (Don't hate me, but I still don't like icing or cake....) So back in the day, most of my family members would always have some sort of cereal that I could eat when everyone else was celebrating with yellow cake, funfetti cupcakes, carrot cake, angel food cake, pretty much anything else with icing.

Anywhoozle, while I was reading her post it made me think about my top cereal choices.... I'm sorry if you could really care less, but I'm going to post it anyway. :)

The Weekend Look

So Saturday consisted of going out for my friends' sister's bday! :) We went to a bar in Philly to get our dance on. I'm the type of girl that almost always wears a dress when I go out somewhere.... I, personally, have a really hard time trying to dance in jeans or pants!! It's just so uncomfortable. So, luckily, I randomly stopped at a ROSS (which I just adore) on the way to Philly yesterday.... and I found this amazing dress *AND IT HAS POCKETS*!!!! I feel like it's clearly way more appropriate to maybe wear to a wedding... but I wore it to a bar.... that has a bull that you can ride. haha Clearly, I didn't take a ride on that bull last night.......

Soooo.... lovely ladies....... What's everyone been up to this week? Everyone on the east coast that has been handling the snow (like me), have you survived? Did you make it?? I hope so. I'm so sorry darlings for taking that "hiatus" last week.... I was swamped with work shenanigans, snow shenanigans, and lazy shenanigans... :) Thank you all for the lovely comments on the last post!! You fabulous bloggers melt my little heart!

So here goes the outfit for today.... As you can see, it's not in my usual place (a.k.a. my bathroom haha). Instead, I had to take it in the icy tundra we call our storage area for work. OK, so here's the deal with an online clothing swap.... but I NEED YOUR HELP/IDEAS on how to make it work efficiently! So, I know that 12 fabulous bloggers that I'm sure we all know are doing this awesome swap. I'm thinking we have people of all different sizes and such because well, we're all women and we're all fabulous and we all could benefit from each other's "new" stuff. So, my idea (and again, I'm totally open to suggestions) is for anyone lovely lady that would like to be a part of an Online Clothing Swap must email me to verify. Once you email me and we chat it up, we'll talk sizes of stuff that you have that you would like to swap, the general sizes that you are now, and where exactly in this lovely world that you are located. Then once I receive all of the interested peeps, I'll try to match people up and fit them as close as possible to their size/preferences/likes/etc. Really, the only cost to anyone will be shipping.

This is just the outfit that I was chillin' around the house in after the gym. Everytime I wear leggings, tights, Jeggings... it makes me feel like a dancer.... hence, the bare feet and tippy toes. :) Just go with it...

Fun facts about today:
- I went to the gym and worked out (which isn't out of the ordinary), but I met a cutie patootie.... more to come? Hopefully... :)
- I am meeting up with an old boyfriend (from like 3 yrs ago) on Saturday for breakfast to just "catch up on our lives"... more to come? Probably... haha
- I have problems cooking for just me. I know that's completely unrelated to the 2 posts above... lol. However, it's a fact. I usually make a ridiculous amount of food because I can't cook small portions, and then end up eating it because well... I love food. :)
- I have been on a "shopping ban" for the past 2 weeks or so.... So far, I've only cheated once. And it was to purchase a pair of shoes for $5.50!! How could I pass that up??? I couldn't. That's how. Don't judge me.

Welp, it's Friday.... and I'm pumped!!! :) Here's what I wore to work today....

Soooo lovelies, this outfit was made in haste definitely before I knew how FRICKIN' COLD it was out today!! The wind chill has to be -1000 degrees or something ridiculous like that. I. Never. Exaggerate. Ever. :) Anywho, this shirt is awesome at the top with the lace detail in the back. However, if you don't cover it up, the bottom half kinda flares out a bit and I'm not a fan. On the other hand, I think the skirt works when it's high waisted. However, again not meant to be like that.... sooooo it's meant to be worn on your hips but it's like mid-calf.... hello, weird? So, I cinched it up and made this lovely little outfit. I'm pleased... then again, who doesn't love YELLOW!??!!?

Also 'Fitness Friday'.............
I bought the Nike+ that hooks into your Ipod and you put the other piece in the bottom of your Nike sneaker. It then calculates your distance while running, how many calories you burn, and talks to you like a friend. Haha... who wouldn't want Lance Armstrong telling you how FABULOUS you're doing on your run??? Also, when you plug your Ipod back into your computer, it automatically uploads the details of your workout right to Nike.com on your own personal profile. You can set up goals and it'll show you how far and how often you would have to run to achieve them. So, my "tip" for this evening.... If you are trying to get back into running/back in shape, you may want to spend the $30 and get yourself the Nike+. I totally verify it's a solid investment. And no, unfortunately, Nike is not paying me to say that. However, NIKE if you're reading this, I accept cash and check. Thank you.

1. Is my new layout strange? Does it evoke a feeling of not wanting to comment anymore? Or is it difficult to read on other browsers? It just seems like after I switched to this new "fancy" layout, the comments stopped. So I just wanted to make sure that the only problem was my lack of inspiration recently with outfits... *Sorry!*
2. Also, I have an OVER ABUNDANCE of clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. And I'm considering selling them on this blog at super, ridiculously cheap prices... I would like to know your thoughts about that. If I offered super cheap things of mine in quality condition, would you consider purchasing them?

So I bought this new dress from Target the other day... and I love it! :) It was simple, but I think it came together fabulously.

P.s. I'm considering going back to school to get a Master's in Education.......... I'm debating........ I'm trying to figure it out. But that is an option for me. I used to want to teach.... and then I changed my mind. And now, maybe I'm changing it again..... I don't know!!!! It's a tough decision..... I would either want to teach Business at a high school level (because I have a Bachelor's in International Business and I've been working in the industry) or I'd want to teach middle school age kids. So there's my dilemma...... If you're reading this and you're a teacher, let me know what you think about your profession and how I should go about figuring out all of this shenanigans! If you're not a teacher, what do you think anyway? :)

Sooooo I was digging this outfit today. I work this to work this morning. The only change I could've made was to pull the skirt up higher so the waist wasn't so in between. However, unless I wanted my hoohah hanging out for the world to see, then I couldn't hike it up any higher.

Couple things....... on Saturday night I went out with some friends. I wore this amazing dress *pictures to follow when I steal them from my friend*.... So this guy, who's actually talking to my friend, leans over the table and asks me to come closer. Then he whispers to me, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Janet Jackson?? But in a beautiful way........." I was quite confused at whether to be offended or overjoyed. To me, the only way I would look like J.J. is if I pinched my nose together and then had a wardrobe malfunction........ Wooooops! However, I have an Italian nose...... and I'm not planning on having my tatas hangin' out anytime soon! I digress...............

Since Everyone Else Is Doing It..........

Hello lovelies! I hope all of you had a fantastic New Years! I'm currently in Maine visiting my family, so that explains the lack of posts..... :P Sorry! Anywho, I'm gonna jump on the "2010 Goals" bandwagon!! Here is a list of my 2010 goals... and I hope that by posting it on here, I can try even harder to keep up with them! (P.s. I am competitive.... however, I hope I'm not a jerk!! *see picture above..... lol*)

1. Eat healthier! - I eat ALOT of food.... I just loveeee food! It's a tough thing though to try and eat healthy when I also love to go out to eat. So, here I'm stating that I'm going to try to cook more and eat more healthy. There.......... I said it............ :P haha

2. Maintain a legit workout schedule every week! I actually really enjoy working out! I am just filled to the brim with extra "stuff" in my schedule so I sometimes use that as an excuse not to workout. No more!

3. I have a couple rec sports leagues coming up.... because I LOVE SPORTS! I'm playing in a dodgeball league in February (p.s. don't laugh because it's actually RIDICULOUSLY FUN!! haha). My softball league starts in April and runs until Septemberish. And I'll probably be playing in a bball league starting in June. So, I know this may sound like alot, but I'd like to do even more! I just absolutely love being involved in sports and leagues and other fun shenanigans. :) So I want to be involved in as many as I can find!

4. I really want to start going swing dancing consistently. The Lancaster Swing Dance Club has swing dancing every Saturday night, and I'd love to get better at it and go more consistently!

5. I would like to hang out with all of my friends more consistently. It's tough because alot of them are married, have kids, don't live that close.... but I need to make it more of a priority to keep my friendships more intact.

6. I need to not worry/over-analyze things as much. I have to learn to rely on God way more. Bottom line.

7. Be a more consistent blogger!!! I want to make it more fun for everyone! I'd love to do Tuesday Shoe Day and Fitness Friday. That's what I need to try and be consistent with. I do cook/bake too... so I'd love to remember to try and post pictures and recipes as well. I would love feedback on other stuff that you would like to see.

8. Ultimately.... be a better person. I want to give back more. I need to give back more. Specific goals - Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, etc.

9. I'd love to be a part of a run that benefits something.... I know there are alot out there. I want to participate in one. I'm not, by any means, saying that it should be a marathon... because I'm pretty sure I'm not made for that. But maybe a 3.5K or something like that. It'd be great to say that I did it!

10. To solve more people's problems.... I'm not tooting my own horn saying that I'm awesome, but I think that I'm decent at helping people figure out solutions to personal problems. (However, this does not apply to myself.... because I'm way better at helping others rather than listening to my own advice........ I digress.) I'd love to help more people in that way. If any of you have any problems/issues no matter how big or small, I'd love to help talk it through and hopefully help out in some way. Feel free to email me at alwayssmilin04 @ yahoo.com.

Soooooo my plan for today was........... to take this new shirt that I bought from F21 (which I love) and make it from day to night. So that's what I did.... The first pic is a close up of the beading on the shirt. It's a pretty sweet shirt. Then I paired it with the shoes in the pic above, and a skirt from Maurice's. I loved it. Then I tried my jeggings with it...... and I felt a little too 80's flashdance................. (which can be a good thing at times, but not so much here) and so I settled for the last set of photos with the jeans. I felt it was a much better fit with this shirt.

Where was I going you ask? Well............ the grocery store. I am an avid lover of the grocery store! Like. For. Serious. I love it probably because it's a mix of 2 things that I adore........ shopping...... and food.......... Chello!? Anywho, so I'm also an avid believer in strutting your stuff at the grocery store. Don't ask me why..... I really don't know. I just feel like the grocery story is one of the places that you can wear whatever you want.... because noone knows where you're coming from or where you're going. And sometimes they'd really like to know! :)

I loved. :) When I first pulled this sweater out of the box on Christmas Eve, I wasn't exactly sure if I would like it.... but I was wrong. I do like it! I like it alot! I feel sparkley in it. I like feeling sparkley! haha..... Those shoes are always a keeper too. I am so glad that I invested in them! Anywhoozle, I went to Maggiano's last night with my ladies (after DSW of course, in which I purchased another pair of fabulous shoes that I can't wait to show you!!)! Have any of you had the pleasure of going to a Maggiano's?? IT. IS. DELISH! Try it! You can get family style meals at a decent price and go home with leftovers!

Hello all of you lovely ladies!! :) Merry Christmas!! Sooo sorry for the lack of posts during this holiday!! I've been hanging out with the family, and chilling with the parentals. I have many outfit posts to update you all on.... and many a Christmas gift to show you!! However.... I may be semi-retarded.... because I tried to put my bosses' camera card into my card reader on my laptop. However, it was the wrong size... Sooooo.... long story short, my genius friend had to disassemble my computer completely and force the card out. Because of that shenanigans, I can't use the card reader in my laptop anymore..... So I need to go buy an external card reader that I can plug into my computer.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could purchase one of those at a decent rate???? Hmmmm??? Let me know lovelies!!

I was given this prestigious award by the fabulous Nina of Ballerina'sclosetobsession! How lovely of you Nina!!! Thanks!! Get on over and check out her blog! It's fabuloussss! So in keepings with this "Beautiful Blogger Award", here are 7 'interesting' (or not so interesting) things about Yours Truly!!!

1. I graduated high school in a class of 10... and that included me. No, I'm not some weirdo. Yes, I did graduate from a private school. And yes, of course, I ruled the school....... of like 60. haha

2. I believe that I have an addiction to Starbucks. 5 days a week I go there every morning and get the EXACT same thing...... a tall javachip lite frappucino with no whip cream, add powdered cinnamon. It's delectable!

3. I'm rarely ever angry in real life..... The only thing that can REALLY tick me off is driving..... I may have a bit of road rage..... or I just can't stand stupidity while driving. And of course, I'm the best driver EVER....... so I would NEVER do anything reckless or stupid. :)

4. Favorite shows are: Law & Order SVU, Scrubs, Psych, Monk, and House.

5. My favorite food in the whole wide world is Chips & Salsa........ but it has to be really amazing salsa because I'm super picky about it! :)

6. I absolutely LOVEEEEEE to shop. I love finding something new and awesome, and especially for a great price. I'm a real bargain shopper. I love finding sale items and figuring out a way to wear it! :) I have like a million pieces of clothing, shoes, accessories, and just pure shenanigans. It's spewing out all over my floor, my room, my closet, my dresser, my bookcase, my large stand up thingy from Ikea, etc.....

7. I absolutely LOVE to cook.... but I hate to cook just for myself. I love cooking for me and other people. It's just different somehow. I love when other people enjoy what I do.

So yeah, there you have it. Some uninteresting facts about myself for your enjoyment and pleasure. :) You're welcome...... haha

Sorry for the lack of posts since Thursday! I have been at the PIAA Football Championships all weekend in over a foot of snow.... It was crazy cold.... my outfit consisted of 5,023,399 layers, 8 pairs of socks, hat, gloves, scarf, etc. Anywho, for those of us here in PA, we got about a foot and a half of snow! White Christmas.... I think so! How lovely! :) I braved the weather and the people to do a little Christmas shopping. I finished some people up...... but I still have some others to finish up. ....................

This was how I did my hair...... I was bored, so I figured I'd take a pic of that too. haha.....

Anywhoooozle, I did make a bunch of goodies last night.... however, because it ended up taking me the whole evening even with the help of Zelda, I did not take any pictures. Here's a rundown though of what I made: Mint chocolate truffles with peppermint patties crushed in them, Chocolate raspberry truffles drizzled with white chocolate, Chocolate coconut truffles with almond joys in them, Chocolate peanut butter truffles covered in powdered sugar, No bake peanut butter cornflake "cookies", and Chocolate peanut butter oat bar. There you have it.... I become somewhat more domesticated. I love to cook, but baking has always been more of a challenge. I'm trying to conquer that. :)

Like I said, uninspired Fridays bring Fitness Fridays. Maybe that'll be a new post!!! :) Tuesday Shoe Day........ Fitness Friday...... oh man, new ideas, new possibilities! I love it! haha....

New Fitness Friday will now consist of some sort of Healthy food option, workout tip, workout outfit, etc. Also, I agree with those of you that commented that said that wearing something that makes you feel good about yourself can oftentimes motivate you to feel better after working out and maybe workout harder/longer etc. :)

P.s. Tomorrow night I'm making homemade chocolate truffles and chocolate peanut butter bars (for "gifts" for my bosses/coworkers/etc.) and I'll try to post pics of that as well along with some recipes! Enjoy!!!!!

To work out or not to work out..... that's the question

Soooooooo... These pics below are because I was bored.... hahaha... On Friday, my outfit for work was uninspired. So, I decided to post a little fitnesseeee thing. Below are What I Wore to the gym on Friday. Please hold your laughter at my ridiculous faces until the end.... hehe

So I figured I'd post a bit about workout routines and what I think about them. If you don't care about fitness (which is perfectly fine!) or you don't feel like reading... you should probably stop...... Now. :) Anywho, I've been involved in sports my.entire.life. It's pretty much one of my passions. I love playing sports!! Yes, it is possible to be a complete tomboy and into sports and also LOVEEEE to dress up and try your best to be "fashionable". It's totally legit. I believe some sort of fitness is important for everyone.... not because of "weight" persay or being "fat" or "skinny" or "weighing a certain #". Fitness is not about weighing 100 lbs. or 200 lbs. Fitness is about feeling good, being healthy, and being "in shape". I work out because at the end of the day, I feel better after working out (as opposed to laying on the couch eating chips & salsa and watching my fav. shows on tv).... or let's just say... when I get home from working out, I feel better about laying on the couch eating chips & salsa and watching my fav. shows.... hahaha. I think it's important to "reward" yourself with good food that you love. I am, by no means, a HEALTHY FOOD NAZI!!! No way Jose..... I loveeeeeeeeee food. I especially loveeeee the extra fattening food (see Chips & Salsa, French Fries, Pizza, Stromboli, Pasta..... you get the picture). However, I can definitely notice when I get into the "I'm gonna house every waking french fry on this plate, even though I'm not hungry anymore" mode... that my body obviously answers back. But I digress..........

Workout routine.... for those of you that care. :)
Cardio portion - Interval training (a.k.a. a better way to run). I do 15 mins usually. The way to do it is..... I run at a 5.2 for 5 mins to warm up. Then I sprint for 30 seconds at a 7.2. Then run again 1:30 at 5.3. Sprint again for 30 seconds at a 7.3. Run 1:30 at 5.4. Sprint 30 secs at 7.4. ** continue the same pattern increasing .1 in speed for each thing until you decide you wanna stop.** I really feel that Interval running is much better for you, and easier to do. Instead of just mindlessly running for who knows how long, you're paying attention more to the time and it makes the time pass quicker. Also, it's good for your heart rate to have that burst of sprinting every once in a while.
Arms - I use free weights. Usually (2) 10 lb. weights. I do alot of different exercises that are hard to explain, but not hard to do. I do 12 reps usually 2 or 3 times... rotating 2 different exercises back and forth in between sets.
Legs and booty - For legs and butt I usually stick with the machines. Leg press, leg curl, calf raises, the glute machine? (the one where you lay down and extend out each leg).
Abs - Abs are something that ALL WOMEN struggle with. I try to vary the exercises when it comes to abs. One of the self-proclaimed "hardest ab workouts to do" sometimes makes it's way into my routine. Here is how to do it...... Get into push up position. Hands on the floor and feet on a giant workout ball. So basically your body is parallel to the ground with your hands outstretched perpendicular to you. Your back should be flat, and your toes should be pointed on the ball. Using your feet, bring the ball as far into your chest as you can without bending your legs. It's crazy, it hurts, and it works. :)
Stretching - YOU MUST STRETCH. If you don't, you'll probably be so sore after starting a routine that you may never want to do it again. DO IT! STRETCH! As long as you want... as much as you want. The more, the better.

I try to vary the days that I work on things. Sometimes I like to throw in just one day of all cardio... so I'll interval train, bike, elliptical, etc. The key is to differ your workouts. You don't want to get bored, because that's why you stop going to the gym. You don't want to be affected by other people either. Never be afraid to go into the weightroom where usually only the boys hang out. Lies. You do whatever makes you feel good!! You work those butt cheeks, thighs, quads, etc. as much as you want!!! Slap on that Ipod and don't think twice about anyone else in the gym. :)

So can I make an honest and yet kind of shallow revelation about myself??... Yes, I can because it's my blog and I'll do what I want. :) Sooooo.... the last post that I did was one of my fav. "chill" outfits. When I took the picture (and posted them) I thought to myself, "I wonder what all the beautiful ladies will think of them!" It may be vain and shallow..... but I can't help it dang it! Anywho, my comments obviously usually get sent to my email, so I check randomly to see if anyone had thoughts or whatever. So I got 0, zilch, nada, nun, diddly squat emails in reference to comments on the last post..... And I thought to myself, maybe people didn't like this outfit as much as I did? :P Oh well.................... boo...... sad face. sad face. haha. However, I get on today to make this exact post (minus this little rant), and come to find out that I actually had 5 lovely comments on my post and 2 on the one before that. Never. Got. The. Email! So thank you all of you lovely ladies out there that commented on the last 2 posts! I'm clearly a shallow person that longs to hear what you think!!! :) I do wanna welcome the newbies too! Stick around. You may or may not be disappointed.

On to the real reason for this post............... I stumbed across this blog today. It's called Project 320... These awesome people are trying to Build. A. Well. They're doing it! And it's awesome, and I think in this holiday season when we're looking to give all of ourselves to everyone around us.... It's important to remember why we're here in the first place. We're on earth to serve others, whether through our gifts (be it fashion, writing, blogging, speaking, listening...) or through our finances, or through our prayers. So, I donated. You clearly don't have to. But I think it's a nice thing to kinda send out there. Check out the site, and if you feel that you wanna support them in some way.... then by all means do it. :)

This is actually what I wore on Saturday night. I went with a couple friends to go SWING DANCING! It was sooo much fun! I was surprised at how fun it was! Everybody dances with everybody, and I just let everyone know I was a "beginner" of sorts. However, I love to dance.... so when they were whipping me around and spinning me all over the place it was like heaven! Again... fun. :) Saturday it also snowed! So it was wet and cold.... and although in most instances I love wearing dresses, this time I just couldn't bring myself to brave the weather to dance in a dress. So this is what I wore. I'm kind of in love with this outfit. Nothing too crazy.... just subtle things that I love.

So I felt good walking out of the house this morning in this.......... And when I was walking into Starbucks to get my morning *Java chip lite frapp with no whip add cinnamon*, I noticed how shiny I was in the reflection of the windows!! Haha... I got a kick out of it. The barista told me she loved my skirt, and as I was walking into my work building this morning I was told that I look "spiffy". And that same person told me that I shouldn't have to carry anything because I look so good...... and she was a woman. :) Mehh... I'll take the complements regardless! haha

So UPS has been leaving those dang sticky notes on my door for the past 2 days saying that they need a signature for a package.. blah blah blah. They have a 3 hr. window that they will supposedly arrive every day..... and I have to work. At a 9-5 job, you can't just take off for 3 hrs and expect it to be peachy keen. Luckily, my roommate was there yesterday to take this picturesque goodness into our home. It has now found it's rightful place on our coffee table, and I believe that it's very happy there. :)

On another note, I'd like to thank all of the lovely comments on my last post in regards to the booty!!! I just want everyone to know that I'm not complaining at all... I really do love my booty. However, it just gets difficult occasionally because pants fit on the butt and thighs, but not the waist. Then you get that gaping waist when you sit down and sometimes your crack hangs out... haha. TMI? Sorry. Does anyone else have that problem?? And it's more of a proportion issue..... I'm not blessed with the tatas.... but I was blessed with the booty!!

"Little in the middle, but she got much back!!!" hahhaha.... Referencing that song makes me think of the report that I did in my Women In Media class 2 years ago..... Basically, I decided that the song "Baby Got Back" pretty much revolutionized the way that men viewed women. For the first time, in I don't know how long, a "famous" rapper said that it was OK for a woman not to look like what Cosmo wants you to be. "35/24/36..... only if she's 5'3"." haha.... But seriously though, men have always been interested in boobs. I mean, they still are obviously..... BUT, they are also interested in the booty now. How funny is it that now, butts are sometimes revered more than the tatas. (Clearly not complaining because that works in my favor... lol) Anyone can show they're cleav for everyone to see..... others can show they're sternum bone for everyone to see (hello me).... But... people don't show their booties. You're not walking around with your crack hanging out, or at least I hope you're not. And if you did, guys aren't walking around gawking at your "butt cleav"........ or maybe they are. Guys are retarded so who knows. :) Anywho, I'm getting off topic.... I just find it so interesting that different cultures have always idolized the booty. And those cultures also don't usually worry about weight gain, big thighs, the pooch that all women have, etc. Why is it acceptable in certain cultures/classes/societies, but not in others? Why is it that all of a sudden... men of all ages, sizes, cultures, backgrounds, etc.... are valuing a nice booty and some great legs more than say the chest? Is this making sense??? I dunno... it probably sounded way better in my report... but anywho.....

I guess either way I'm telling all of the boys out there............ "Stop looking at me Swan!!!" hahaa I'm dumb, and I apologize if you felt like I babbled for no reason in this post!!! :)

Soooooooo..... about the title of this post...... Last night I went to see Boondock Saints II with my friend Stauby... and this is what I wore. (The title is a quote from the movie) :) So, I really wanted to rock the tights as pants thing. I run into somewhat of a dilemma though...... I dunno if ya'll notice this, but I look "ethnic". That basically means that people never know what ethnicity/nationality that I am, so I like to tell people I'm whatever you want me to be. But anyways..... with this ethnicity confusion comes a...................... badonkadonk.....(i'm not sure that's how you spell it... but since I couldn't find it in webster's dictionary.......)........ does that make sense people?? I got myself a booty!!! Now, hooray for all of you stick figures that can rock tights as pants and NOT have your bubble booty popping out for all to see. Really, I salute you. However.......... I don't really have that option. My booty is too pronounced compared to the rest of my body to just let it be out in all of its glory in tights. Soooooo... after I put this outfit together and really liked the shirt-belt-tights-boots combo.... I had to think of a way to "disguise" the booty (I mean technically there's really no way of legit disguising it because it's vavavavoom, but I'm cool with that). After much deliberation and chatting with my cats about what they thought hahah.......... I came up with what I thought was a nice solution. I took a really tight long black tank that I put on under the white shirt and pulled it down across the cheeks. It seemed to camouflage nicely enough. :) You couldn't really even tell........ but anywho.... that's what happened last night. That's the story that is my life........

Tee hee hee... just kidding.... but seriously. Remember when I was discussing my plans to make and sell scarves to the masses!!! Welllllll......... the time has come. Our plan has been to make various crocheted/knitted items and sell them... and then we would make care packages for troops who are oversees currently for the holidays and send them out with the profits. I have currently, made, sold, and distributed probably 5 scarves so far. (Thank you to all of you who have participated so far!) I have a waiting list/list of things to do of about 4 more. Please see above for 2 examples of current shenanigans! The white one is super thick and awesome and wide and awesome.......... it sold for $13. The purple and white one is thick, but a little less wide. That one is $10, but still awesome!

So here's a shout out to all of you.... if you would like a lovely scarfffffff or know someone who needs one as a gift.... and you would like to benefit local troops that are oversees for the holidays, let me know!! I can make them in any color/colors (as long as they sell that color in the stores!). The price will vary between $10-$15 depending on how wide/long you would like it. So, i'm pretty sure that's cheap....... here and here I'm right along with them. :)

But anyways, I digress.................................. Positive thinking will change the world!!!! Weeeeeeeeeee!

Tuesday REALLY IS SHOE DAY!!! from now on....

The new Tuesday Shoe Day!!! From now on, every Tuesday I will be featuring a pair of my shoes! That should probably keep every Tuesday kept solid for over a year! So it will be perfecto! :) So here we have the new pair of shoes that I just purchased on Saturday.........

Deets:
Fabulous shoes are from Bonton, but they are Guess! I got them 50% off, so I only paid $40.

These shoes are ridiculously comfortable!!! I was shocked! I have never been one to NOT buy a pair of shoes because I felt it would be too uncomfortable.... wanna know why? Because I don't care! If they're ridiculously awesome, and I love them so much... then I'm buying them. I'll deal with the pain of walking later on.............. But these shoes..... are. divine. The brown leather is like a stretch leather. It's awesome because it gives so that I'm not messing up my skin with crappy harsh leather. And surprisingly, the heel is reallyyyyyyyy high, BUT I don't feel like my feet are going to fall off after walking around on there. Therefore.......... WOOHOO!!

Hello Yesterday..............

As you can see, I'm pretty pumped about this outfit......... :)

Outfit deets:
White awesome ruffley shirt: F21 $20
Black Ruffle Skirt: Target $6
Black *most amazing shoes in my closet currently* :) : DSW $40ish

So, I'm actually really proud of this outfit. I've been wanting to wear this skirt for a long time... but I always struggled with how to style it. It's meant to be worn around the not-so-natural-waist, and that always presented a proportion problem when trying to pair it with a shirt. Soooooo... I decided to cinch it a bit and slap a sweet belt over it and wear it higher. I wore the off-white half-sleeve blazer over it to go outside in. I'm not that crazy to try and wear this out in November... actually, I'm not gonna lie, I am kinda that crazy. But, I thought it may present a problem at work when I get funny looks. :) But anywaysssss.... I thought that with this skirt styling, I could easily turn this into a sweet holiday "dress" with a fancier shirt. I'm getting all kinds of ideas now.

Oh and a side note about these shoes: Every single time I wear these somewhere, I get at least 1 compliment on them. I swear on my life......... It's craziness!!! I've never gotten so many compliments on one pair of shoes! Straight guys, not-so-straight guys, straight girls, maybe not-so-straight girls..... people of all ages.... grown men that seem legitimately intrigued by the creation of these incredible shoesies........... Strange... but awesome! :)

We here at my shoe closet would like to welcome the newest addition to our lovely shoe family!!! Say hello to these DSW beauts!! These were only $41ish with tax. It was a splurge online purchase, but I'm soooo glad that I bought them. I keep seeing all of these cage heels everywhere.... and then I found these and said to myself, "Self, you must add these to your family!". So I did! :)

What would YOU wear them with??

P.S. I have figured out that it is very difficult to take pictures of your shoes... while they're on you.......................... I did it though..... regardless of how weird the pics look.

So I want to thank all of you lovelies for your comments on the last post! I did end up wearing the yellow shoes for that outfit, but I wanted to give a shout-out to all of you who liked the blue ones!!! So, I decided to incorporate it into yesterday's outfit! I kind of felt very menswear-inspired yesterday. I love these pants from F21! They're wide-legged fabulousness.... only bad part is they get wrinkled in a hot second... True Story! I threw them in the dryer yesterday morning before work and then I pulled them out and gave a quick iron over.... and STILL they were wrinkly... Oh well! I still love them!

So the details of my life are currently scattered about with no real rhyme or reason.......... I'm having some hard things going on in my life currently, so that's why I've been sort of MIA. However, today's post is going to be a look back at an awesome week that I spent with family and my roomie in the islands on a cruise! :)
